Shield Security & Training Solutions is proud to offer the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) OC Spray Certification Course for commissioned security officers who are authorized to carry Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) chemical dispensing devices while performing security duties.
Our experienced instructors provide comprehensive classroom instruction covering the safe, legal, and effective use of OC spray in accordance with Texas Administrative Code, Title 37, Part 1, Chapter 35 and Texas DPS Private Security Program requirements.

• Safe handling, storage, and maintenance

Important Course Information
Students WILL NOT be sprayed during this certification course.
Texas DPS guidelines require students to demonstrate competency in the proper use of the chemical dispensing device. Exposure to OC spray is not required by the Texas Department of Public Safety for certification.
