This certificate is not your license; it is only the first step in getting your license. The next steps are for you to go to the Department of Public Safety website and start your application. You will also be required to be fingerprinted and undergo a background check by them.

Once on this site, look for the tab at the top of the page that says “Regulatory Services.” Click on that tab, scroll down to “Private Security,” and click on that tab. You will then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Access TOPS.” A new page will open where you will see “Start Individual Application.”

Retesting

Students will have three opportunities to pass the final exam successfully before they have to reapply for the course.

Students will have thirty days to complete this course once they have purchased it.
